I'm very excited to announce that I will be unleashing a new play upon the theatre world in 2019. 'A Relatively Uneventful Evening' is a full-length black comedy that is anything but uneventful.
Currently, the script is still a work in progress. But it feels great to have reached a point where I can share what I'm working on with you. If all goes well, I'm hoping to have it ready for the stage early next year. But we'll see... Anyone who has worked with me in the theatre will be aware of my exacting standards, and this show - which has been swirling around my head for over a year now - will be no exception.
I know you'll be wondering what it's going to be about, so here's the synopsis:
After years of hard work and countless rejections, Eleanor's first book is finally published. Her closest, and rather eccentric, friend, Addison - who has sworn not to throw a party in her honour - promises an event of conservative proportions and "close friends" only. What ensues is an evening of dysfunction, drama and dismay as secrets are are outed, dreams are shattered and relationships stretched to their limits.
That's all I'm giving away for now. But there will be more details to come! If you want to be kept up to date with the progress, there's a place to subscribe to updates on this page.
If you have any questions about the play. Feel free to get in touch.
